Commercialising a revolutionary new clean energy technology

Cogentum is working closely with the management team of Cetus Energy, a Melbourne based renewable energy technology company as it seeks to bring to market their new technology platform.

The Company has developed an entirely new renewable energy technology based on their radical Cetus blade. The technology allows the harvesting of massive amounts of naturally occuring energy, by enabling maximum energy to be extracted from turbulent flows. ie. Rivers, Tidal Flows and Waves. These environments have previously proven challanging to conventional technologies.

Initial tests at Melbourne Universities Michell Laboratory were completed in 2008 providing proof of concept. Data from these tests has now been independently validated by a leading renewable energy consultancy. Further modelling of the data indicates that a full scale Cetus Marine Turbine unit is capable of generating more than 1500MWhr/yr of base load power, reducing Carbon Emissions by over 2300 tonnes.

Cogentum has worked closely with Cetus to identify three paths to market - Marine, Hydro Electricity and Small Scale River applications and worked with the team as it becomes Investor ready.

Initial development of the opportunity has involved articulating the commericialisation strategy and working with the team on funding applications.
